About Dr. Keith
Tara Villa Keith is in her twenty-second
season as music director of the Davidson
College Symphony Orchestra (DCSO) in
North Carolina where she is a professor
and chair of the music department. In
2020, she completed an eleven-season
tenure as music director of the Lee County
Community Orchestra (LCCO) in Sanford,
North Carolina. With the Charlotte
Symphony Orchestra, Tara has served as a
guest conductor, cover conductor and pre-
concert speaker, and was the premiere
instructor for their Symphony 101 adult
education program.
VISIT
Sound of the Carolinas is all about sharing the
joy of music with our community! Our vibrant
repertoire ranges from classical and Broadway
hits to your favorite movie themes and more. We
aim to make our performances enjoyable for
both our performers and our audiences. Look
forward to interactive experiences like sing-
alongs, costume dress-up for kids, and exciting
collaborations with organizations such as animal
rescues and churches.

Auditions
Sound of the Carolinas performs a diverse and exciting
repertoire, so we ask all potential members to audition
for our orchestra. We recommend that applicants have
at least a post-high-school skill level, but no formal
degree is needed. We welcome both amateurs and
professionals to apply. Please note, due to our rehearsal
space limitations, we can only accept members who are
18 years or older.

- Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings at
7:00pm at Coddle Creek Elementary School.
