Why We Require Auditions:
We're thrilled you're interested in joining us! Auditions are essential for maintaining our high standard of musical excellence and ensuring all members are prepared for the challenges of our fast-paced environment.
Please don't be intimidated by auditions—you do not have to be perfect. We're looking for ability, but also potential, dedication, and a willingness to learn. Even if you don't think you can play every piece flawlessly, we encourage you to audition. Take a deep breath, relax, and know we're cheering you on every step of the way. We can't wait to hear you play!

Audition
If you have any questions at all about auditions or anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re happy to help!
- Find the audition requirements of your specific instrument below.
- Record yourself playing the required pieces. Please make sure your face is visible as well as your hands, and as much of your instrument as possible. This is so we know it’s really you who is playing.
- Upload your video(s) to YouTube. If you have multiple videos you can upload them separately or combine them into one video. You are welcome to keep them unlisted if you prefer.
- Email the link along with your name, instrument(s) you are auditioning for, email, and phone number to: auditions@soundofthecarolinas.com
- If you wish to play instruments such as piccolo or english horn which are not typically the primary instrument, please note that in your email, but there is no additional audition required.
- If you wish to play multiple instruments that are both primary instruments, you will need to complete the auditions for all instruments.
- Optional: Include any details you would like to share about yourself. You can include past playing experience and education, or even your occupation and hobbies. Anything you’d like us to know about that makes you, you.

In addition to the required pieces, you must prepare a piece of your choice that showcases your ability, 1-3 minutes long. If the piece exceeds the time limit, please only play a portion. Accompaniments are allowed, but not required.
